Migrating to Cobblr
You already have your stuff written down somewhere: a spreadsheet, another inventory app, a pile of notes. Moving to Cobblr means bringing that in without retyping it, and knowing you can get it back out later.
Pick your starting point
- From a spreadsheet or CSV: the path that works for anything. If you can produce a CSV, Cobblr can read it.
- From another tool: Homebox has a live connector and a one-shot importer. For everything else, export to CSV and use the path above.
- Preserving history: moving between two Cobblr workspaces, and keeping a copy of what you had before you start.
What actually imports today
- CSV import for inventory items and locations.
- A scan-inbox import for captured items.
- The Homebox connector (live sync or a one-shot CSV).
- Sync sources are listed in the Integration catalog.
- Anything without its own path comes in through CSV.
What makes it safe
- Every import shows you a preview before it writes anything, so you see what will land and where. If an import looks wrong in the preview, you close it and nothing was written.
- Import is additive. It adds rows to your workspace. It does not reach out and change or delete what a source still holds.
- Nothing you put in is trapped. A workspace exports back out to a file you own (see Backup and export).
