Lists
The Lists module is for the simplest thing there is: a list with items you check off. Shopping lists, to-do, packing, whatever you'd otherwise scribble on paper.
Check things off
A list holds items you tick as you go. No status workflow, no fields to fill unless you want them. Just a checklist that remembers where you left off.
- Clear the ticked items in one sweep rather than one tap each.
- Or ask Cobb to clear the done items, and the ticked ones go, leaving the rest.
Saying you'll get it
A shared list has a problem paper doesn't: two people at two different shops both buy the milk.
- I'll get it: every unchecked line carries this toggle. Tap it and your name sits on that line for everyone else, so the other phone can see the milk is handled before it ends up bought twice.
- Never mind takes it back.
- Checking a line off clears the claim with it.
- The list refreshes itself while it is open, roughly every fifteen seconds and whenever you return to the tab, so nobody has to pull to refresh.
Why claims and refreshes work the way they do
A claim made in one shop is only useful if it reaches the other one without anybody pulling to refresh. And once the thing is bought, who was going to get it stops being a question worth answering. A checked line saying someone is still fetching it would just be wrong.
Things to use up
The expiry digest is a card you can answer: one line per item with how long it has left, and beside each item its own Used up and Threw out buttons, on Discord and in the app. Pressing one settles that line only, so a batch can be dealt with from one message. Pressing one does the real thing (the stock goes to zero, or the waste is recorded and the shelf life learned), the same as the actions on the item's own page, and it can be undone there. In a Discord DM the card works the same way.
Filled by the rest of Cobblr
Lists don't have to be typed by hand. A wire can add an item on an event, so a part that drops below its reorder point can land on a shopping list on its own.
- The auto-add is an ordinary wire, so it's yours to shape: choose the event, choose the list, add a condition ("only when tagged consumable").
- The shipped example is the low-stock shopping list, but any event in the workspace can feed any list.
