Cobblr for Groceries

Photograph the receipt on the way home. The whole shop lands in your inbox, each line its own item, dated, and sorted into the fridge, the freezer, or the pantry.

The first ten minutes

  1. Shop.
  2. Open Cobblr on your phone, tap Scan, and photograph the receipt.
  3. Every line becomes an item with a date and a place to go.
  4. Tap through them. A big shop takes a couple of minutes.

You can also scan a single barcode when you are putting one thing away, or photograph the thing itself.

What is on hand, and what is about to go

The app opens on a board of what you have, so the question "do we have paprika" is answered from the sofa. Things about to go off sort to the front, which is the whole point: the food you forget about is the food that goes in the bin.

Shelf life comes from what the thing is rather than from you typing a date. A tub of soup and a bag of flour are not given the same week.

Worth knowing

  • Kitchen, fridge, freezer, and pantry exist from day one, so a receipt's lines have somewhere to land, and anything that has to be kept cold is offered the fridge or freezer before you have taught it anything.
  • A scan with nowhere better to go lands in the app's own table, never in a hidden catch-all. An empty inbox shows a Photograph a receipt button, because that is the whole first move.
  • Quantities go down as you use things, and a low one can add itself to a list.
  • A receipt you were emailed can be forwarded in rather than photographed.

When you want more

Spending over time, a shared list the household can all see, and reordering are in the full workspace.
