Recurring maintenance reminders

Goal: stop upkeep from slipping. Log what you service, set when the next one is due, and have Cobblr tell you as it comes due.

Modules: Maintenance, attached to a machine, an asset, or a vehicle. A notification channel if you want it off-app.

Steps​

  1. Open the record you're servicing (say, a shared espresso machine or a van) and log a maintenance entry: what was done and when. Descaling, a filter swap, a safety check.

  2. Give the entry a due date for the next occurrence. Cobblr's sweep watches scheduled entries and notifies you as each one comes due, through whatever channels you've set (in-app by default, or Discord and Slack if you've pointed a channel at one).

  3. For the strictly periodic jobs, the "every three months" kind, use a wire on a schedule instead of a single due date. A wire can fire on a repeating iCal rule (the first of every month, every Monday at 9) and create the reminder or notify without you setting the next date each time.

Result​

Upkeep that surfaces itself. Each record also keeps its full service history, so you can look back at when something was last touched. On a machine, usage counters can accrue as jobs finish (a wire records the hours), which is the groundwork for scheduling by usage; today the schedule runs on dates.
